Is Adani Green Energy’s 250 MW Wind Capacity at Khavda, Gujarat the Future of Renewable Energy?

Adani Green Energy announced on Wednesday that it has commissioned a 250MW wind power generation facility at the world’s largest 30,000 MW renewable energy plant in Khavda, Gujarat.

This achievement brings the total operational capacity at the Khavda plant to 2,250 MW, as stated by Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL).

The addition of the 250 MW wind capacity at Khavda enhances AGEL’s leadership in India, boasting the country’s largest operational portfolio of 11,184 MW.

Khavda is recognized for having some of the best wind resources in India, with wind speeds averaging 8 meters per second, making it a prime location for wind energy production.

The Khavda Renewable Energy plant features some of the world’s most powerful onshore wind turbine generators (WTG), each with a capacity of 5.2 MW.

These high-capacity WTGs optimize land use to generate more energy from the same site and reduce the levelized cost of energy (LCOE).

The 5.2 MW WTGs installed at Khavda are built with advanced German technology and manufactured at Adani New Industries Ltd’s (ANIL) integrated manufacturing facility, strategically located near Mundra port.

AGEL has transformed the barren Khavda wasteland into a center of clean and affordable energy. The energy produced at the Khavda Renewable Energy plant can power 16.1 million homes annually.
